This full-time position provides technical field support for geotechnical engineering projects for both private and public sectors. This person must have a good safety record and be able to communicate effectively with other team members and clients. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Collecting soil samples
  • Preparing field boring logs
  • Conduct field testing on collected soil samples and record pertinent drilling information
  • Locate and stake boring locations
  • Notify utility locators of proposed drilling locations
  • Conduct field electrical earth resistivity testing
  • Ensure general safety of drilling crew
  • Participate in safety meetings

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
  • H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather and field conditions
  • Must be able to work outside typical daily 8 am to 5 pm hours
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time
  • Must have basic computer skills for time and expense entry
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with fellow employees and drillers
  • Must be able to read plans and maps
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to travel between Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
  • Schedule is 12 days on 4 days off cycle
