The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally. Overview of role
We are looking for a senior civil structural engineer with experience in power generation projects to join our Genoa team, to support the delivery of our detailed design work. You will work with our team of engineers, technicians and draftsmen to deliver our work to specified standards and project schedule, while following our project governance. As part of your day-to-day work, you will be responsible for analysing project documents, detail design of concrete structure, bar bending checks, detail design steel structure including connection details, 3D model review, design review, client liaison.You are expected to design in accordance with applicable standard, prepare input for draftsman, examine, mark-up and align documentation and drawings.
Candidate specification

• The ideal candidate would have an understanding of power generation projects and the complete design lifecycle.
• Candidate should be able to apply valuable engineering practices to optimize projects time and costs and that is familiar with several international code.
• As the majority of our deliverables are in English, a professional level of oral and written English will be expected.
• An MSC or equivalent degree in Engineering related to Civil or structural disciplines. 

 Desirable(not essential):

• Previous experience in Power generation/Hydropower.
• Proficiency in Italian and any other European languages
• A background in structural engineering and detailed design will be an advantage.
• Experience with reinforced concrete/rebars and steel structure detail design.
• Proficiency in the usage of FEM software (e.g.  Staad, Sap2000, GT Strudl). Knowledge of Tekla structure and Aveva E3D software will be an advantage.
