Project Manager

Senior Remediation SpecialistWeaver is seeking a self-motivated senior remediation professional (Chemical, Environmental, Engineer, Geologist) to support our nationwide remediation practice. This position is organized under our Environmental Practice Group (EPG) supporting the Remediation Services Group (RSG) primarily developing, supporting and implementing remediation projects that include large Brownfield redevelopments and industrial manufacturing projects throughout the US.The successful candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience and must provide technical leadership, subject matter expertise, and broad-based multidisciplinary management experience to leading proposal and project teams within Weaver Companies.  The candidate should possess a balanced portfolio of skills including a strong technical understanding of their primary area of practice and experience in other aspects of environmental consulting, including business development and business management interests, and demonstrated relationship-building abilities.This strategic role has responsibility for contributing to the growth of remediation services. Must have subject matter expertise in one or more specific areas of remedial engineering (e.g., site remediation optimization/exit strategy; vapor intrusion/vapor migration; risk and exposure assessment; groundwater hydraulic control, recovery, and treatment; innovative technology applications; contaminant transport and modeling experience; emerging contaminants). The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct both internal and client-facing meetings related to project work.
  • Develop and maintain technology leadership in environmental remediation.
  • Promote culture of technical excellence and innovation, entrepreneurship, quality deliverables, outstanding client service, and exceptional teamwork.
  • Serve as technical integrator for large and complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Assure that up-to-date and validated technical methods, and practice tools are applied.
  • Champion quality and demonstrate leadership by personal high standards for work processes and products and exemplary service to clients.
  • Actively participate in professional societies, conferences, and meetings that will increase the visibility of the firm to potential clients and recruits.
  • Negotiate and agree on project scope, job tasks, contract terms, budget, and schedule with Clients.
  • Manage work to meet contract schedules, appropriate codes and regulations, regulatory compliance and/or enforcement and industry standard-of-care criteria.
  • Perform background research, gather information, and interpret laboratory and field data to support technical activities. Evaluate data reports and draw comparison of results with similar analysis.
  • Provide input for and develop written technical reports for delivery to clients, perform quality control review, and maintain deliverable quality to meet internal and client requirements.
  • Actively support and participate in the company health and safety program by teaching and enforcing health and safety standards, regulations, and procedures.
  • Successfully manage $800,000 - $1,000,000 of net revenue performed annually.  Net revenue goals can be met through managing Weaver client work as well as through business development efforts.  Work to be performed at profit margins generally consistent with other managers.
  • Develop new business to support revenue goals.  Generate at least one new client annually, with new client net revenues of at least $50,000 - $100,000.
  • Obtain new or follow-on assignments from 85 percent or more of existing quality clients.
  • Generate backlog for themselves and others.
  • Provide outstanding service to clients, to the point that clients sole source new work opportunities. Maintain close personal relationships with existing and prospective clients.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or related field with at least 10 plus years of progressive professional experience in discipline
  • Hold professional registration or certification (PE/RG/PG)
  • Knowledgeable of environmental policies and regulations
  • Demonstrated abilities in leadership, management, and administration
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop business from new and existing clients
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge and compliance expertise
  • Strong personal safety culture
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training in accordance with 29CFR 1910.120

The position is a salaried position with significant bonus opportunity and the work hours are flexible targeting 45 hours per week, working approximately 20-30% in the field.  The position will require out-of-town travel at an average rate of one week a month.
