Job Description

Construction Consultant
Haag Global, a leader in forensic engineering and consulting since 1924, is seeking an experienced Forensic Construction Consultant in Missouri. Our consultant will conduct field inspections, determine extent of damages, and provide cost estimates for appropriate repairs. Inspections may include but are not limited to damaged roofs, foundations, and various other damaged or collapsed structural elements, and damages to buildings caused by fires and explosions. EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A HS Diploma or GED is required. An A.S. or B.S. degree in a related field is preferred, but a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • 5-10+ years of experience with performing residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional building inspections is required.
  • 5-10+ years of experience with cost estimating repairs for damages caused by environmental conditions, construction defects, material/structural defects, and ground movements is required.
  • The ideal candidate will bring 5-10+ years of mid-to-large loss residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional property restoration expertise.
  • You must have a strong understanding of the insurance industry, especially with Claims Adjusting and Construction Estimations.
  • A background in providing litigation support (deposition or trial) is expected.
  • Heavy travel (primarily local and regional) by vehicle or by plane will be required. Some extended travel may be necessary.
  • You must have the ability to work in the field, often under extreme conditions.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including working in confined spaces and on roofs. Carrying ladders and operating other pieces of field equipment are essential functions of the job.
  • Experience with setting up, calibrating, and operating various instruments is necessary.
  • Technical proficiency with Xactimate, RS Means, or Symbility, plus proficiency with MS Excel is a high priority.
  • Insurance related training and certifications such as IICRC, RRO, Florida GC License, Adjuster license, Xactimate training.
  • Must be able to work independently and with a cross-functional team of experts.
  • Strong writing skills are required. We will ask to see a redacted work sample.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are necessary; you should be an effective communicator and highly effective in face-to-face interactions.
  • The ability to provide the utmost in customer service to our clients is expected of all Haag professionals.
  • You must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or any legal restrictions.
