Job Description

  DescriptionYour role at GEI.Work as Geotechnical Engineering Intern on a variety of projects.Essential Responsibilities & DutiesJob duties include the following:

  • Basic design of excavations and backfill, foundations, support of excavation systems, structural evaluation and assessment, slope stability, embankments and spillways.
  • Creating civil 3D/Revit models of major earthwork components and structural projects.
  • Preparing permit, bidding, and documentation drawing sets.
  • Converting field information to final drawings.
  • Preparing technical memos, reports, construction specifications.
  • Field observation of construction activities.
  • Performing geotechnical field investigations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a BS or MS program in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering program.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills.
  • Ability to perform field work at active construction sites without restrictions and in inclement weather as needed.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to travel on temporary field assignments as needed.
