Job Description
DescriptionYour role at GEI.Work as Geotechnical Engineering Intern on a variety of projects.Essential Responsibilities & DutiesJob duties include the following:
- Basic design of excavations and backfill, foundations, support of excavation systems, structural evaluation and assessment, slope stability, embankments and spillways.
- Creating civil 3D/Revit models of major earthwork components and structural projects.
- Preparing permit, bidding, and documentation drawing sets.
- Converting field information to final drawings.
- Preparing technical memos, reports, construction specifications.
- Field observation of construction activities.
- Performing geotechnical field investigations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in a BS or MS program in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering program.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills.
- Ability to perform field work at active construction sites without restrictions and in inclement weather as needed.
- Valid drivers license.
- Ability to travel on temporary field assignments as needed.
