Responsibilities

  • Increasing responsibilities to perform construction management duties
  • Expert at analyzing and programs independently
  • Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Applies an increased amount of professional judgment and discretion
  • Responsible for project phases as a Task Manager
  • Must consistently apply Woolpert procedures
  • Expert recommending procedures based on precedent
  • Expert at performing quality control reviews and assists with quality assurance procedures within areas of expertise
  • Manage the inspections of construction projects and materials for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved construction plans/specifications
  • Expert at ensuring inspections are completed according to contract protocols.
  • Expert at reviewing and interpreting construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications
  • Recommends corrective action when problems are detected.
  • Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Communicate with contractors if test failures occur.
  • Manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Produce daily and weekly reports
  • Perform contract administration tasks
  • Provide supervision and mentorship
  • Monitor contractor construction schedules.
  • Lead Weekly Construction Progress Meetings.
  • Communicate project status with stakeholders and maintain relationships with clients.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Civil Engineering or Construction Management Degree and / or 15+ years of construction experience
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
  • Expert knowledge of construction management, inspections, methods and materials
  • Expert knowledge of contract administration and pay estimates
  • Expert knowledge of soil analysis, materials, compaction and density tests
  • Thorough knowledge of survey, drafting and engineering
  • Familiarity with construction observation reporting and procedures.
  • Excellent daily report writing and accurate quantity tracking ability.
  • Good communication skills with clients and staff.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • 10 Hour OSHA Construction Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites as well as comply with applicable safety codes and requirements.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus.
  • Previous experience managing construction of large-scale transportation/aviation projects.

Travel:

  • Extended overnight stays REQ

Resulting Physical Qualifications:

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
