KLJ is actively seeking a Bentley Systems CAD Manager to join our Transportation Team to work specifically on state Department of Transportation Projects across the country.The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating and managing CAD standards, software configuration, and support of project teams
  • Providing oversight of our software configurations, user preferences, and tools related to Bentley Systems platforms.
    • This will include: OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, OpenBridge Designer, and OpenRoads ConceptStation.
  • Implementing CAD standards and familiarity of workspaces related to Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and municipal clients and preparation of plans in accordance with these standards.

Performance Expectations:

  • Develop Training Program materials and classes for new and existing staff
  • Implementation of CAD standards and familiarity with workspaces related to multiple Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and municipal clients and preparation of plans in accordance with these standards
  • Review and develop tools and workflows to improve project execution and delivery
  • Provide research and development and recommendations for new content, tools, workflows
  • Participate on project teams to develop engineering designs and produce project documents using Modeling and Design tools
  • Monitor CAD staff hardware, software licensing, and software inventory
  • Remains aware of new CAD technology, trends, tools and practices in the industry.

Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • A minimum 5 years of CAD drafting with current editions of Bentley Systems software (including MicroStation/GEOPAK/OpenRoads) environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Excellent skills and extensive experience with analysis and design technology software (MicroStation, GEOPAK, OpenRoads CONNECT Edition workflow and workspace setup, OpenGround, etc.), tools, user preferences, and workflows.
  • Personable team player who wants to experience a sense of achievement in helping to direct and shape KLJ
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Patience and a desire to teach others and share knowledge
