We are currently seeking an entry-level or early-career Engineer to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. We offer engineers the opportunity to work on challenging environmental services projects for a wide range of clients. This position entails travel to job sites and working outside of the office setting some of the time, conducting site and subsurface monitoring for environmental projects, operation & maintenance of remediation systems, as well as monitoring contractor activities during construction. This is a full-time position located in Richmond, VA; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; or Greenville, SC. Other locations or a remote role may be considered for the right candidate.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions, site access, and identify important site features.
  • Conduct routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for their discipline.
  • Support the development of remedial system design, including process calculations and the preparation of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct operations and maintenance of remedial systems.
  • Observe and document construction / remediation activities, spending 25-40% of their time in the field on assignments during their first few years.
  • Contribute to development of technical approaches to problem-solving and support identification of opportunities to optimize/innovate existing and new procedures and systems.
  • Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.
  • Review regulations, as appropriate.
  • Assist with the development of technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on small- to medium-sized project opportunities.
  • Commit to maintaining a membership in one professional society or technical organization in their discipline or primary area of technical interest.
  • Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter.
  • Comply with Company and client Health & Safety protocols.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering.  M.S. degree welcomed.
  • 0 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Has or will apply for initial professional certification in their core discipline, such as EIT or FE.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with clients, senior project engineers and staff.
  • Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software.  Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to travel to temporary assignments across the U.S.
  • OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred, but not required.
