Regular Full TimeGainesville, FL, US2 days agoRequisition ID: 2258ApplyAre we the road to your future? Volkert is employee owned and a Top 100 design firm, committed to delivering the future of infrastructure in three key areas of service: Design + Engineering, Planning + Environmental, and Program + Construction Management. We are currently searching for an experienced Rod Person to support our Southeast Region located in Gainesville, FL. The Rod Person reports to the Party Chief and is responsible for assisting with field surveying activities, including maintenance of survey equipment. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn land surveying. This is an entry level position that will require some overnight travel and working outside in all weather conditions. What you’ll be doing: 

• Must be physically able to work long hours and carry heavy loads
• Possess effective written and oral communication skills
• Basic computer literacy and math skills
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements
• Must be able to work in inclement weather
• Pass a drug & background test to obtain security badge clearance

 What you need to have: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of surveying is preferred
• Safety oriented
