Job Description

Resident Engineer  (L-2023-02)Responsibilities Include:

  • Attend project meetings
  • Keep records, write correspondence, prepare required reports, distribute project documents including Contractors' submittals, RFI's and shop drawings
  • Be accountable for site safety, permit compliance and coordination with other adjacent projects
  • Manage inspection and staff
  • Monitor Contractor performance, scheduling and quality control
  • Review and approve daily inspection reports and payment quantities per the client’s requirements
  • Prepare Change Orders
  • Inform community liaison about upcoming work and minimize disruptions to the public
  • Additional responsibilities as required by the client

Requirements

  • NICET Highway Construction certification - Level IV or Professional Engineering License
  • 3+ years of experience in capacity of Resident Engineer
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Willing and able to work overtime as needed
  • Willing and able to travel to construction sites throughout NJ
  • Physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions, carry test equipment and use personal protective equipment such as eyewear, gloves and masks
  • NJSAT Asphalt Paving Association (preferred)
  • TCC Rutgers CAIT Traffic Control Coordinator (preferred)
  • ACI Concrete Field Technician, Grade 1(preferred)
