Job Description

  • Compensation: $55-60/hour
  • Location: Midland, TX
  • Assignment Duration: 6 months+
  • Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+

Responsibilities

  • Working safely, and ensuring all those working around them are working safely
  • Working with Houston-based and local ITS teams to install, operate and maintain field communications systems
  • Scheduling formal change requests to field communications systems for firmware updates, security changes, and other configuration changes
  • Unboxing, inventory, testing, and installing field communications hardware at sites in the work region.
  • Working to join infrastructure to a cloud management platform, central management, and monitoring tools
  • Documentation and knowledge transfer, such as maintaining and providing solution documentation to other team members, IT and business areas, detailing hardware installations, logically storing project files, and cross training
  • Providing solutions to complex problems on the integration of various technologies including connectivity issues
  • Resolving operational, infrastructure or hardware incidents and request items
  • Working continuously on a task until completion or escalating to the next level support
  • Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time
  • Collaborating with IT, managers, and other stakeholders to develop an action plan for improved operations
  • Preparing written and verbal presentations and reports
  • Providing management with timely and accurate status reports
  • Keeping customer base informed of changes and issues within the data center environment
  • Modeling a strong work ethic and taking the lead on a variety of initiatives
  • Being flexible and willing to adapt to changing business requirements

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College graduate in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent work experience pertaining to information technologies and / or telecommunications may be acceptable
  • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required
  • Very strong experience with networking, wireless Coriolis,  radios, broad band, AC/DC, tower construction experience, strong networking troubleshooting
  • In-depth understanding and troubleshooting skills of cabling infrastructure (Layer 1 - Fiber, Copper), common wired network devices, IP telephony, two-way radio, local area networks, wide area networks, and potential connectivity issues for each
  • Understanding and troubleshooting skills of hardware, software and peripherals used in a common business environment. - Includes PC computers, Servers, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Server, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Communication skills (written and verbal English is a must). Ability to work well with people and assess each customer’s individual needs. Need to be able to communicate with people and businesses outside of the organization and company, which may include business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers
  • Strong customer service ethos with experience in change management
  • Excellent organizational skills including accurate records keeping and proper documentation
  • Ability to work independently, self-organize, follow through without reminders, follow up, multi-task, follow processes and policies (including environmental & safety), and act as a contributing member of a team environment
  • Experience with Project Management.  Ability to manage projects as well as be a resource for projects
