There are no limitations, no boundaries, to the engineering challenges McLaren can meet.Salary Range: $95,000-$160,000POSITION TITLEPE Diver LOCATIONHybrid - Remote/New York City, NY OVERVIEWThe Marine division is a highly collaborative team.   With a group of design specialists and full-time underwater inspectors, we offer a special skillset to achieve client preferences.We are looking for self-motivated, team-oriented engineer-diver with strong communication skills and a background in underwater condition inspections of marine and/or bridge structures to join the Inspection and Rehabilitation practice of our Marine Division. The position will involve engineering and above and underwater inspections across the United States with a primary focus in New York Harbor, and the Northeast. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct site investigations including above water and underwater inspection;
  • Evaluate condition and significance of deterioration;
  • Analyze deteriorated components, assesses remaining capacities;
  • Help solve engineering problems and challenges;
  • Liaise with other professionals and departments to gather information for projects;
  • Prepare plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates;
  • Prepare engineering reports and other technical documents; and
  • Prepare standard documents, such as technical specifications;
  • Performs other duties as required.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-10 years previous experience in waterfront (and/or bridge) design, construction, maintenance and rehabilitation;
  • BS in Civil, Structural, Coastal, Ocean, or Mechanical Engineering (required);
  • Registered Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain in 12 months);
  • OSHA compliant commercial dive training (ADCI card, international dive certification, or surface supplied dive training at a commercial or military program) including required safety certifications and ability to pass a commercial diving physical;
  • Familiarity with ASCE Waterfront Facilities and Assessment Manual and NHI bridge inspection guidelines;
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, boat and water operations, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, and field test of carrying 50 lbs of equipment up a steep embankment etc.;
  • Valid, unrestricted driver license;
  • Ability to obtain, or currently holds a valid TWIC Card;
  • Ability and willingness to travel;
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and CAD Software
