Job Description

With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver traffic engineering projects throughout the Southeast Region. Perform routine traffic engineering tasks including but not limited to data collection, traffic analysis, traffic signal design, signing and marking, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) planning and design. Location in Atlanta, GA or Nashville, TN is preferred but candidates in Raleigh, NC, Jacksonville, FL, or Tampa, FL will be considered. Candidates will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule but will be required to attend internal and external client meetings in person as needed. Role accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver traffic engineering tasks on a wide range of transportation projects. 
  • Work efficiently and effectively to complete tasks within the required project schedule and budget. 
  • Develop proficiency in methodologies used to conduct traffic engineering studies including Highway Capacity Manual, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control and Devices, Highway Safety Manual, NCHRP Reports, and AASHTO. 
  • Develop proficiency in traffic design including signal design, permanent signing, pavement markings, and ITS. 
  • Develop proficiency in traffic analysis and modeling software including Highway Capacity Software, Synchro, Vissim, and SIDRA. 
  • Coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical elements of the project and present results.

Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience post degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT
  • Must possess a US Drivers License

Preferred Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Proficiency with MicroStation and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer
  • Prior experience with traffic analysis software such as HCS, Synchro, Vissim, and SIDRA.
  • Familiarity with Georgia or Tennessee design standards
  • Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT requirements, policies, manuals and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail is critical in the success of this position.
  • Ability to work well in groups as well as independently.
