JOB DESCRIPTION

Help us build the future and we’ll help you build a rewarding and purposeful career.  As a key member of our enthusiastic team, you will play an important role in winning and leading projects, as well as contributing to the development of our junior civil structures/ bridge engineers. GHD has a connected global network of civil structures/ bridge professionals based across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, North and South America and the United Kingdom who are dedicated to the investigation, design and verification of road, rail and pedestrian bridges and associated structures. Due to continued growth and project wins, the South Australian Region has great opportunities for experienced Team Leader and/or Senior Civil Structures/ Bridge Engineering professionals to join us. The existing team are involved in a wide variety of projects and have built an excellent team culture with great people and established technical authority. These diverse roles will see you working on and leading a range of transport infrastructure projects including road and rail bridges and other civil structures. Working with an energetic and high performing team, these positions offer a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Leading/mentoring a team of structural engineers and modelers to deliver civil structures and bridge projects, coordinating design with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Delivering various project roles, such as Technical Lead, Project Manager or Project Director, on projects such as minor or major bridges, open channel/ water regulating structures, ITS gantries, retaining walls, and structural pavements.
  • Client liaison - preparation of proposals and winning work.

 What will you bring to the team?

  • 7+ years’ experience in the delivery and leadership of complex civil structure/ bridge projects, such as bridge inspections, load ratings, condition assessments, business case development, concept and detailed design, remedial works and construction phase services.
  • Practical knowledge and application of Australian Standards.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to business development activities with local and state government departments, consulting partners, and civil contractors.
  • Competency and/or familiarity with a variety of structural design software packages – including STRAND7, MIDAS Civil, SpaceGass, Autodesk suite including Structural Bridge Design, Navisworks and Robot.
  • Proactive leadership qualities with strong communication skills and desire to develop and mentor junior team members.
  • Bachelor’s degree qualifications in Civil/ Structural Engineering
  • Engineering Australia Chartered Engineering Status (CPEng) desirable.
