Job Description

Material Management AdvisorLocation: Commerce City, ColoradoDo you have great collaboration skills? Are you an experienced Supply Chain Management (SCM) professional with a passion for materials handling? In this dynamic role, you will be the subject matter expert responsible for facilitating connections between supply chain procurement and site warehousing activities. In this fast-paced role, you will be an integral member of our maintenance reliability group at our Commerce City Refinery. You will be responsible for planning and tracking the receipt of equipment and materials as well as expediting and coordinating delivery of materials to ensure the availability of materials. Reporting to the SCM Manager you will be responsible for facilitating connections between supply chain procurement and site warehousing activities.You will use your expertise to:

  • Act as the point of contact for SAP issues/errors
  • Ensure processes and reporting structures exist to facilitate warehouse and procurement functions
  • Facilitate inventory repairable activities between the warehouse and the procurement team
  • Lead enhancement activities to ensure goods are available when required
  • Support the reverse logistics pathway for closed work orders and networks
  • Facilitate inventory inactivity reviews to ensure the correct materials are stored in the correct way, with the correct service levels.
  • Guide the removal of unused or unwanted material from the warehouse and deliver value back to the functional areas
  • Support maintenance schedule and ensure SAP reflects accurate work order statuses
  • Support material expedite/goods receipt/kitting review

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in supply chain management or related experience
  • Strong understanding of MS Excel as well as SAP and/or material management systems
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Demonstrated knowledge of spare parts/inventory
  • Strong understanding of the material life cycle
  • Demonstrated material handling expertise (safety, efficiency, care/custody/control, and warehousing)
  • Ability to analyze objectives and targets to ensure we are heading toward the correct goals

Preferred Skills

  • In-depth understanding of SAP (work order, purchase order, reporting, kitting, and issuing)
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or a designation in supply chain management
  • Experience relating to materials management and procurement

Additional Information

  • Core weekday hours are identified; however, irregular or after hours (days, night, weekends) may be required to support emergency “on-call” requirements, unplanned events, or due to the cyclical nature of the workload
  • May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) due to occasional visits inside the refinery Control Rooms and the chemical warehouse
  • Some local driving
