 Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Environmental Scientist/Biologist job would entail:• Work on wide variety of environmental planning, environmental compliance, natural resources projects as they relate to transportation and development projects.• Work on environmental assessments/impact analysis and associated permitting and compliance monitoring for transportation, industrial, energy, and other infrastructure projects that require conformance with Federal/State/City Environmental Reviews.• Prepare environmental reports including wetland and watercourse delineation reports, biological assessments, monitoring reports, mitigation plans and related documents.• Assess and analyze project impacts to identify permit requirements; and develop strategies to avoid or minimize impacts and permit requirements.• Conduct field work associated with the collection of natural resource data, such as wetland delineation, mussel surveys, vegetation and habitat surveys.• Support other project managers across market sectors and disciplines in completing required studies, documents and reports• Research and interpret scientific literature, regulatory programs, guidance and applications.• Assimilate and manage data, provide creative graphical representations of complex information.• Work with geographic positioning tools and information systems.• Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings.  Keyword(s): ODOT, DOT, Rail, Freight, Transit, NEPA, Planning, Environmental Scientist, Environmental Planner, Biologist, Wetland Scientist *LI-MJ1 


 Required Qualifications• 5+ years-experience related to responsibilities noted within the primary responsibilities.• Strong academic background with a B.S. or B.A. in biological studies, natural resources, wildlife management, wildlife biology, botany, or an equivalent subject.• Exceptional and demonstrated technical writing ability. Experience drafting technical documents such as scientific papers, survey findings reports, compliance documentation, or similar required.• Proficiency in MS Excel and Word. Experience with ArcGIS software and Trimble hardware a plus.• Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities.• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.• Experience in the Ohio area preferred.• Professional certifications such as WPIT, PWS, CWB, AICP, etc are preferred.• Some field work will be required, and candidate must have the ability to work in field conditions and carry necessary tools and equipment.• Travel may be required to project sites.• Preference given to local candidates Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
