Geosyntec is the place for you!  We are seeking an exceptional mid-level Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to help grow our site investigation and remediation practice in Portland, Oregon.  This position is well-suited for a talented, experienced individual who is interested in becoming a leader and contributing to innovative and challenging projects, including contaminated sediment, soil, and groundwater investigations and remediation, field and project management, and the financial and technical evaluations necessary to implement these projects.   • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Developing and implementing site assessment and remediation work plans, sampling and analysis plans, quality assurance project plans, and health and safety plans;
  • Sediment, soil, groundwater, and surface water remedy evaluations, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Fieldwork such as sediment, soil, groundwater, and stormwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation system O&M
  • Providing litigation support services, including related to hazardous waste and material management.

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 30%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required) 
  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering. (preferred) 
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E, P.G.) (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) 
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental investigations and clean up. (preferred)
  • An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership. (preferred)
  • Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance, historical research, and environmental assessment. (preferred)
  • Experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and legally sensitive projects. (preferred)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
