Job Description

Role Summary:

The primary objective of the Senior Structural Designer (SD) is to secure a stable and cost efficient structural design of new LM Wind Power blades within the given project time frame.

The SD must in close cooperation with external and internal customers (R&D, BU’s, Sales, Quality and Sourcing etc.) make the structural design of the blade from G0 to G5 according to the Blade Project Manual and the Structural Design Process.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education • Minimum BSc in Engineering – Typically MSc in Engineering
External Experience • +5 years of experience with blade structural design, external or Internal
• Knowledge of Composite Structures (design and failure modes)
• Ability to drive and lead projects
Certifications • Not required
Internal LM trainings/qualifications • LM Induction training
Knowledge and Skills • Technical Skills: Composites design calculations (hand calcs, blade analytical assessments, basic FEA)
• Good understanding of technical aspects and ability to assess a technical challenge and solve it while keeping the impact on product, process and equipment in mind.
• Well organized, self-driven person, able to work and complete tasks independently and on time
• Able to clearly communicate, convince, motivate and inspire others
• Motivated by continuous improvement and want to move the limits of what is possible.
• Fluent in English
