Job Title: Account Manager

Business: Tata Steel Distribution UK & Ireland

Location: Wednesfield, Midlands or Llanwern, South Wales

Salary: £25,000 - £40,000, negotiable on experience.

The Role

A vacancy has arisen for an Account Manager to join the Heavy Gauge Decoiling Team and the position would be based at our Steelpark Site.

The Heavy Gauge Decoiling facility is based in Llanwern, boasting the most advanced decoiling line in Europe, this served by a national sales team based all over the UK.

Tata Steel Distribution operates in a very dynamic Sector where there are many competitors operating on a low cost base in niche markets. Customers, as always, are demanding in terms of price and service and the role of the Account Manager is key in creating a service package that competitors will find hard to match.

As an Account Manager, you will be a key member of the team in achieving commercial targets within the criteria of price and margin set out in the spot and new business sales plan. Key to the role, is to generate enquiries from existing and new accounts by cold calling and regular customer visits where appropriate - understanding and establishing the customer’s steel consumption and to then offer accordingly, sourcing from the wide range of Hot Rolled Products made by Tata Steel.

A successful candidate is someone who looks beyond the sale, looking to maximize processing efficiencies and profit opportunities. A key area of focus, is to grow sales in differentiated products and add value through creative selling, giving customers a product which enhances their offering to their market, whilst also growing the profitability of TSE.

Who are we looking for?

We expect applicants to have a good standard of education or degree level, with appropriate experience and capability, to be considered for the position

The candidate will need to have experience in negotiating at a high level and have strong business acumen and knowledge of the steel sector and market

The role requires strong communication, problem solving and leadership skills. The ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales is essential.
