Haley & Aldrich is growing and we are seeking a mid-level Senior Civil Engineer to support and manage storm water treatment, environmental assessment, remedial design, and construction field engineering tasks related to project sites in the Southern California area.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated problem solver with high attention to detail and must be capable of working with minimal direction to solve problems and prepare technically accurate design documents as independently as possible, while adhering to project scopes and budgets.

This is a full-time position based in either our Costa Mesa, CA or Woodland Hills, CA offices.
The successful candidate will:
Perform office and field engineering and task management duties for a wide range of storm water treatment, environmental assessment, remediation design, and construction/demolition projects.
Monitor the operation of a storm water treatment plant and prepare storm water best management practices design services.
Assist in the development of remedial action documents including investigation work plans, feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed engineering design plans and specifications, project technical reports, and permitting documents.
Prepare project proposals including budgeting, manage subcontractor procurement, develop project schedules, coordinate staffing, prepare status reports, and track project scope implementation.
Assist in preparation of engineer’s cost estimates for remedial designs.Support project bidding through quantity takeoffs and bid document development.
Administer construction/demolition-phase engineering support including submittals review, contractor pay requisitions, change order requests and requests for information.
Perform construction/demolition field inspection activities.
Perform remediation system construction, start-up, and operations, maintenance, and monitoring.
Perform engineering calculations and check calculations prepared by others.
Plan, execute, and document Site investigations to delineate the extent of contamination in soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and soil gas.
Understand client needs to build and maintain trusted client relationships.
Coordinate with client representatives, and regulatory and external stakeholders.
Be capable of managing financial and technical aspects of projects.
Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements.
B.S. in civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering.
4 to 6 years of relevant engineering experience
CA Civil PE is a requirement for this position
Interest in storm water compliance required
Storm water treatment plant operation, performance evaluation, and design experience a plus
Design, construction, and permitting experience in CA a plus
Experience in implementing remedial designs including field engineering and construction inspection or oversight preferred
Experience with civil design work related to design of large-scale earthwork and/or sediment projects desired
Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.AutoCAD experience strongly preferred
Must comply with company and client Health & Safety protocols
Strong organizational skills and attention to technical details
Must be proficient at writing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER certification
Must be willing to travel within southern California up to 30 percent of the time as needed to support clients, projects, and project team collaboration
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, and willingness to see projects through to completion are a must
