We offer a comprehensive list of complex design-build services including; deep foundation, earth retention, diaphragm walls, and ground improvement. Hayward Baker develops innovative, practical, and cost-effective solutions to challenging projects for our customers on a daily basis.

We are currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer to work in our Nashville, TN office.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for performing state-of-the-practice engineering analysis and designs for a variety of structural/geotechnical design build construction applications. We offer best value solutions that routinely include complex underpinning, deep foundation, earth retention systems, slope stabilization, landslide repair, and ground improvement. Being the largest geotechnical construction company in North America we are able to combine multiple techniques on projects to provide the best value solution to our customers. It is a fast-paced environment where creative solutions help the team win.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of structural and or geostructural engineering experience. A Masters level degree is preferred however a Bachelor level will be considered. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and communication skills are a must. The candidate will have a solid understanding of structural engineering including the use of ASCE 7, IBC, AASHTO, AISC, and ACI codes and standards. The candidate will be a licensed professional engineer. The candidate must be proficient in the use of Excel, Mathcad, and have a working knowledge of AutoCAD. Hayward Baker utilizes many state of the art software packages such as; Ram, Group, L-Pile, GeoStudio, Plaxis, and DeepEx, however the candidate will not be limited to the use of existing software.
