Your Challenge
EXP’s Infrastructure & Transportation Practice provides comprehensive planning, design and construction engineering services for all types of roadway, bridge, water resource, rail, transit and aviation projects. With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we have a history of successfully delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects. We are currently looking to grow and enhance our practices’ capabilities within the rail and transit markets and are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Rail Project Manager to grow the team at EXP. The ideal candidate will work directly under the supervision of the Practice Leader and focus on delivering rail and transit projects for wide variety of clients including regional and local rail work and various Class I Railroads and Amtrak.
Your Responsibilities
Plan, direct, supervise and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal and administrative functions of assigned projects
Act as exp’s representative with the client and subconsultants during project execution
Develop strategic initiatives and business plans for areas that align with the overall goals of the practice
Lead or assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for project pursuits
Work with other senior staff within the Infrastructure & Transportation and Buildings practices to develop and expand exp’s rail and transit capabilities
Develop and maintain client relationships
Recruit, retain and develop top industry talent
Work with other practice groups, as needed to accomplish project and group objectives
Job Requirements
The Skills and Knowledge You Bring
BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
Registered as a Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer
Minimum of 15 years’ experience of related work experience in the rail and/or transit industries
Previous experience with regional rail and local transit clients
Previous experience and relationships with Class I or regional short line railroads or Amtrak desirable,
Demonstrated ability to perform in a management capacity and ability to lead teams of different disciplines,
Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of technical specialists, clients, and public officials,
Thorough knowledge of industry practices, standards and regulations required, AREMA membership desirable
