Job Description

Since 1930, COWI has pushed the boundaries of design through our involvement on major infrastructure projects worldwide. As part of COWI's Bridge, Tunnel and Marine Structures (BTM) business line, we manage our projects from offices located in the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Middle East, India, SE Asia and North America.

LTC Cascade is the appointed Technical Partner of Highways England for the development of the Lower Thames Crossing and COWI is part of the JV consortium.

The Lower Thames Crossing is the single biggest roads investment project since the M25 was completed more than 30 years ago. It is unprecedented in size and scale. The longest road tunnel in the country. One of the largest diameter bored tunnels in the world. The opportunity to transform journeys across the south east and beyond.

It will form a vital part of the UK's transport infrastructure, and the areas it will serve are home to economic hubs, key UK ports and thriving communities. It will help businesses large and small to grow and bring people and communities closer to job, education and leisure opportunities.

The Lower Thames Crossing will connect Essex and Kent and almost double road capacity across the Thames east of London. The 70mph crossing and the new connecting road network will provide, quicker, safer and more reliable journeys locally, regionally and nationally.

At the end of 2018 we completed the most significant roads consultation ever undertaken in the UK with a record-breaking response. We are now in a critical phase of the project's development as we seek permission to build the crossing. This is your opportunity to play a career defining role in the biggest investment in the UK's roads for a generation.
