Primary responsibilities include design of pipelines and related facilities. Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard pipeline engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practices, but may involve a variety of complex features. Requires general knowledge of precedents in specialty areas and familiarity with basic principles and practices in related specialties. May coordinate departmental and divisional project studies and report preparation assignments. May coordinate the production of design and construction documents including alignment sheets, P&ID drawings and specifications. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program. At least three years of pipeline design experience is required. Experience with pipeline modeling software such as AFT or SynderGEE. Must have the ability to travel. Familiarity with MS Office, especially Excel. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Requires knowledge of pipeline design codes and safety requirements including ASME B31.4 & B31.8 as well as 49 CFR Parts 192 & 195. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Previous consulting experience preferred. EIT.
