Join Cardno's Science and Environment team as a Project Manager/Biologist in Glendale, CA to lead one of four project elements for a technically and geographically diverse team. Cardno is currently seeking a Project Manager/Biologist to lead one of four project elements for a technically and geographically diverse team. The successful candidate will have the overall responsibility to develop additional work under our existing MSA and position Cardno for upcoming opportunities. Upon winning new work, the candidate will work existing resources to deliver the agreed, defined project deliverables on time, within budget, and of the quality that is in accordance with Cardno and client business, technical, health and safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtain clearance through client background check to access online system (upon employment).
Comply with all Cardno and client policies including those related to safety, anti-harassment, and drug use.
Provide technical review of project documents, feedback and mentoring to junior staff.
Engagement in the process and willingness to identify process improvements to provide added value to our client.
Provides expertise in business development (Environmental) within CA with a focus on the greater LA Basin.
Lead technical proposals and private clients.
Lead and/or participate in aspects of proposal preparation and scoping exercises, such as sourcing and seeking quotes from subcontractors/suppliers.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Cardno staff and/or subcontractors.
Anticipate and initiate business development and Project Management without prompting from their Supervisor.
Minimum BS degree in biology or related science with 8+ years of environmental consulting experience.
Working knowledge of State (CA) and Federal regulations and experience linear projects environmental permitting.
Strong client satisfaction track record.

Possess an outgoing personality to network with Cardno and subcontractor staff.

Ability to lead and manage project teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strongly proficient in computer software including Excel, MS word, and various Cardno and client systems.
Strong quantitative skills.
Self-motivated; resilient initiative.
Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks/projects with demanding deadlines.
Willingness to travel and work in a variety of field conditions within California.
Must be physically fit and able to navigate rugged conditions on foot (day and night work may be necessary).
