We are seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer to work under the direction and supervision of more experienced staff to integrate their contributions into the overall solution to meeting clients’ needs. This is great hands on, fulltime position based out of our Phoenix, AZ office.
The successful candidate will:
Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by performing all work in accordance with corporate and client health and safety plans.
Conduct routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved industry standard procedures.
Prepare detailed documentation of subcontractor work activities, including development and maintenance of daily field reports and tracking spreadsheets
Conduct due diligence assessments.
Conduct onsite environmental investigation duties related to soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion.
Assist in the design and start-up of soil, groundwater, and indoor air remediation systems.
Assist in studies that evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of remedial approaches to site cleanup.
Document project-related activities.
Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.
Assist with the development of technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on small to medium-sized project opportunities.
Prepare bid packages and solicit bids from vendors.
Proactively manage tasks to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within established budget, and within client-agreed quality standards.
Perform and participate in constructability reviews.
Assist with the procurement of subcontractors and vendors.
Manage contract and scope changes and elevate to the appropriate project management staff.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Civil or environmental degrees preferred.
Engineer-In-Training certification, AZ Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred.
3 to 5 years of professional services consulting or industrial/facilities experience that includes presentation of technical data and solutions in a variety of written and oral formats.
Experience in the management and estimating of task specific budgets
Experience with storm water management is a plus.
Construction, operation and/or maintenance of soil and groundwater remediation systems, including evaluation of system performance data.
Field experience in environmental investigations related to soil and groundwater contamination.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
Strong organization skills and exceptional attention to detail is expected.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, and willingness to see projects through to completion are a must.
Excellent computer aptitude and proficient with the use of Microsoft software programs Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project, with commensurate computer skills for the position AutoCAD proficiency is a plus.
Valid driver’s license.
OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training a plus.
